CHOOSE YOUR FUND TYPE
Endowment Fund
An Endowment Fund is a fund that builds an enduring legacy of charitable or community giving. When donations are made to a designated Endowment Fund:
- The donation is protected and maintained over time.
- The donations recieved into an endowment fund are invested and grown by the Foundation.
- Each Endowment yeilds continuous grants to the community every year.
As the Endowment grows over time - so does the annual granting from the Endowment.
Donations to Endowment Funds are eligible for Charitable Reciepting. All donations recieved through the YDCF Online Donation Pages are eligible for a charitable reciept.
Manual (Cheque or Cash) donations to any YDCF Fund are eligible for charitable reciepting for Donations of $25 or more.
Currently, YDCF charges no administrative fees on donations destened for any of our Endowment Funds. 100% of your recieved donation goes towards your designated fund.
Flow-Through or Designated Project Fund
A Flow-Through or Designated Project Fund is a fund that accumulates over a defined period of time, or until a defined fund value is achived. Flow through funds are typically used to address or fund specific community needs or projects.
Once the Fund objective is achieved, or the Fund termination date is reached, all funds contributed are payed out to the defined recipient or cause that the fund was created to address. Once the Flow-Trough or Designated Project Fund objectives are achived, the fund is closed.
Due to the administrative burden of a Flow-Through or Designated Project Fund, YDCF reserves the right to apply a small administrative fee on all recieved donations for Funds of this type.
SELECT YOUR FUND OBJECTIVE
Weather your chosen fund type is an Endowment or Flow-Through / Designated Project Fund type, there are a number of objectives that you may wish to consider when determining how and what you want your fund is to be published and promoted.
Named Fund
Provide donors with flexibility. Donors can start a named fund with an initial contribution of any amount and have it build over time. Named Endowment Funds become an enduring charitable Legacy, to address Local and Regional Charitable or Community need now, and into the Future.
Minimum Donation Threshold: $5,000.00+
Designated Fund
Established to benefit specific charitable organizations. The earnings from these funds are distributed to the designated organizations on an annual basis.
Designated Fund Minimum Donation Threshold: $10,000.00+
Agency Fund
A simple way for non-profit organizations to efficiently build an ongoing source of income. Annual income earned benefits the organization and the portion granted can be used for any purpose.
For a non-profit without a charitable designation, any fund agreement would require the inclusion of a Canadian Revenue Agency recognised "Qualified Donee".
Agency Fund Minimum Donation Threshold: $10,000.00+
Field of Interest Fund
Allows a donor to designate a specific area of interest to which charitable grants will be made. DDCF uses discretion in selecting the most appropriate recipients annually.
Field of Interest Fund Minimum Donation Threshold: $10,000.00+
Donor Advised Fund
Provide donors with the opportunity to be actively involved in recommending projects to be funded.
Donor Advised Fund Minimum Donation Threshold: $10,000.00+
Scholarship Fund
Provide assistance and encouragement to promising young students challenged by the costs of education. Funds are distributed directly to the institution to be applied to the students tuition account.
Scholarship Fund Minimum Donation Threshold: $10,000.00
CURRENT YDCF FUNDS OPEN FOR DONATION
Yorkton and District Community Foundation is not only here to help our local and regional community needs, but to also help and assist members in our community that want to build the charitable capacity within our community.
Even if you currently do not have the capability to create a fund as listed above, Yorkton and District Community Foundation is more than willing to work with you to achive your Fund Development Goals over time.
General Community Fund
All undesignated funds recieved by Yorkton and District Community Foundation are directed to the General Community Fund by default.
A Donor wishing to eventually create a specific fund should consider donating to the YDCF General Fund. The Donors funds will remain within and grant out annually as the General Community Fund until the minimum donation threshold of their Fund is achieved.
CURRENT YDCF FUNDS OPEN FOR DONATION

YDCF Mental Health Fund
A fund that is directed to the delivery of Mental Health Service providing agencies within Yorkton. Most of the funded services are accessible by both Yorkton local and regional community members seeking Mental Health services & support.
YDCF Helping Hands Fund
Provide assistance and encouragement to promising young students challenged by the costs of education. Funds are distributed directly to the institution to be applied to the students tuition account.
Kane Proceshyn Memorial Award Fund
If customers can’t find it, it doesn’t exist. Clearly list and describe the services you offer. Also, be sure to showcase a premium service.
